From Dual-Source to Primary Supplier: A Success Story
In 2020, a customer partnered with us as a dual-source supplier to address challenges they were facing with their existing metal stamping provider, who was already producing the same parts. To meet their specific needs, we designed and built several custom dies entirely in-house. Over the next three years, our consistent performance not only met but exceeded their expectations, earning their trust and resulting in the production of nearly 15 dies by the end of 2024. The below video shows one of these brand new dies stamping .080 thick and 6 inch wide galvanized steel:
Fast Turnaround: Production in Under a Month
Last November, a new customer transferred a die to us from their prior stamper. Thanks to expedited material ordering and swift part approvals, we began production in less than a month after receiving the tooling. The video below is of the transferred in die. It is stamping 1/8-inch thick and 2 7/8-inch wide hardened aluminum.
Seamless Tooling Integration and Repairs
At Acro, we understand that tooling challenges can arise, but we’re fully equipped to address them. If a die fits our presses, our in-house toolroom can retrofit nearly any tooling for seamless operation on our servo presses. Is the tooling in rough shape or in need of repairs? No problem! Our expert team can repair existing dies, fabricate new components, and ensure optimal performance.
In early 2024, a long-standing customer transferred the below die to us from their previous supplier. Over the past four years, this customer has entrusted us with the transfer and production of over 80 dies.
The video below showcases the die successfully retrofitted and running in our 200-ton Stamtech press. After replacing several broken components and adding new nitrogen cylinders to resolve previous forming and stripping issues, the die is now fully operational and producing high-quality parts for our customer. This die is running 12-inch wide, 0.12-inch thick material.
